Frequently Asked Questions
BOX OFFICE
How do I book tickets?
The best place to book tickets to Shedinburgh shows is on our website here. Alternatively, you can also call our box office phone line on 0131 622 6552 where the Gilded Balloon box office team can help you.
If you have any issues booking tickets to any of our shows please email [email protected].
My booking confirmation/e-ticket hasn’t arrived, what should I do?
Please make sure you double-check your spam and junk folders. If you still haven’t received it, please get in touch with us by emailing [email protected].
Do I need to collect/print my tickets?
No! All of our events are e-ticketed, you do not need to collect printed tickets. Your booking confirmation email will include a QR code, which will be scanned by our front of house team when you arrive at the venue. You can show this on your phone or tablet (or print it at home if you would prefer). We recommend you avoid printing as much as possible, this helps to make the festival more sustainable and saves you time!
Can I buy tickets when I arrive at the venue?
You can buy tickets at the venue however, we recommend that you buy tickets online in advance as we expect demand to be high for all shows. You’ll be emailed an e-ticket to use when you arrive and you’ll avoid the risk of shows selling out.
There will also be a limited number of standing/floor seating tickets available on the door for every show.
How much are tickets?
Shedinburgh’s shows are ticketed on a pay-what-you-can model. If you book tickets in advance you have two options. You can pay a mimum or £10 or £18 for a pay-it-forward ticket.
If you purchase your ticket on the door there is no mimum. We encourage you to pay the amount that best suits you, no judgments – we’re committed to accessible pricing for audiences.
There is also a £2 ticket levy on every ticket purchased which goes directly towards the Shed- Load-of-Future Fund, supporting artists taking work to fringe for the first time. You can find out more about how this helps keep the Fringe accessible here.
SHEDx talks in the afternoons are free to attend but ticketed.
